Just purchased this car and the roof doesn't do anything, does anybody have a wiring diagram for this, so I can check it out. Is there anything that happens on these all the time. Thanks Michael

I have checked the fuses there all good and everything else is working, it doesn't make any sound at all. Is there a way to manually crank it? Is there a relay somewhere? Thanks

I had the same issue on my '99 S80 T6 that I just purchased from a dealership. Has your alarm system been acting up as well? Mine was under a 30 day warranty, so the dealership fixed it, but they said that it was the Alarm Siren which apparently runs the same circut as the sunroof. My alarm would randomly go off, although making no sound (because the siren had died), and the sunroof stopped working at the same time.
Hope this helps!

PS: was also told there was not a way to manually crank it shut, which I think is rediculous....but that's what the Volvo guys said....

Almost all if not all moonroofs have a manual way of closing them if there is a failure to the motor or power system.

That's encouraging. Now, what's the manual method for a 1999 S80? I need to get the thing closed before it rains!

I haven't checked, but I would guess you pop off the front panel in front of where the switch is and there should a sprocket that can be cranked by hand or with an allen wrench.

I know my Lincoln, the panel is in the rear of the car, but same concept. I'll try to remember to look at the roof of my car when I go home tonight to see where the manual close function is.

I just had the problem of the sun roof not closing. It was stuck in the vent (tilted up) mode. Fuse was good. But as long as I have owned the car, about 2000 miles, 99500 on odometer now, it has had the message to have the alarm serviced. Well, I saw a reply on this forum to disconnect the battery and it worked. I do not have any messages about alarm system needing any service and the sunroof closed. It appears that sometimes the "mesage center needs to be reset by disconnecting the battery. If you still have the problem, have the dealer look into the problem.
