Hi

I'm after a bit of advice from all you knowledgable people out there - I've currently got a golf but the new dog (black lab), the camping trips and who know's maybe a little one in the not to distant future I'm after an estate.

I've looked around and for my £8000 budget there are a wide range of cars to choose from. The best looking and most prestigious of them by far is the V50.

Obviously for that price the trade off is high mileage - 54 plate, 120000 but with one owner, FSH.

I'll probably be doing on average 300 miles per week.

My question is will the V50 be big enough and should I be worried about the high mileage

Cheers
Si.

I bought a 107,000 mile V50 2.0D SE last week and so far am very pleased with it!

I have covered about 450 miles in it so far and it still drives like it has only done 30,000 miles!

I too have a baby on the way which is the reason I sold my Audi TT to buy it.

As far as space is concerned......I bought a cot bed, baby changer unit and chest of draws this weekend and with the seats folded down there was no shortage of space.

One piece of advise though, If you are planning on buying a high mileage one, make sure that it has a full Volvo service history and that the cambelt has been replaced.

Good luck!

No worries with the mileage issue as long as it has been regularly serviced. I've got 72k on mine in just over 3 years and I now service it myself. Stil feels like new TBH, and as above, I think it will feel pretty solid when over 100k.

We had a baby 9 months ago and it's a squeeze at times when fully loaded for a holiday but otherwise okay as you can pack up to the roof with the net up.
