Well after 13 years the dashboard and radio lights are starting to wear out on my 1995 850 GLT. I have seen the posts on removing the instrument cluster and it looks pretty easy so i was wondering where i could get lights for the dash and radio. Should i use an online retailer? If so what do you recommend? How many lights are there total? I'm also considering changing the color but don't know if it would look better. I have a tan interior and black exterior, any suggestions? I'm thinking blue. I appreciate the help, Thanks

Check ebay. Sometimes you can find lights there. I've read on this or another forum that some Honda lights work and are a lot cheaper than the Volvo ones. In terms of color I would probably go with orange/amber.

Stay green baby! Get some neon under the dash to compliment it like I did. Looks great (pics in my garage)

I'd check my nearest local accessories shop or electrical DIY shop for this. Usually its cheapest there.

If the transportation and handling costs are not an issue to you, by all means go ahead.

It depends if yours is Yazaki or VDO. I think prolly more like Yazaki. The bulbs on the Yazaki uses different holders than the VDO ones. The Yazaki ones are shorter and usually less 'fat' as the VDO ones. Heheh. I was describing the bulbs.

Hi,
Thanks for this. You just saved me a bunch of money. I replaced my switch lighting today, as well as the climate control and dash lights (turbo and rt side of the speedo were out.) The only ones I couldn't find locally were the small square ones that light the warning lights, turn signals and LCD display. I only needed the LCD display ones, so I "borrowed" the ones from the Low fuel indicator and the washer fluid one. I figure I can figure that out myself without a light!

As this is my first post, I'm Pat. I'm in Dayton ohio, I bought a nice 1995 850 T5r about a month ago. It was a shop car at an import shop and aside from a few cosmetics, (tear in the driver's seat, surface cracks on the passenger seat, small tears in the floor carpet,) it seems to be in great condition. It runs great and is a really fun ride. The only Mechanical stuff needed was some new shocks and struts, (I swapped out the shocks, but haven't done the struts yet- I have the parts, just need the time!) and the passenger side temperature sensor fan was frozen- easy fix. Aside from that, a tune up, fluid changes, and cleaning the injectors and she's running like a champ! Actually it was running good anyway, but I figured it couldn't hurt!
Anyway, I've been lurking here for a few weeks, and thought I'd thank you all for the info I've gleaned so far, and say Hi!
Cheers,
Pat
