Curious if the issue is unique to my 2007 S80 - although I have noticed it on the same model that I used as a loaner car. Two things about the seat belt warnings:

Driver: The warning comes on (audible and lighted instrument panel indicator) for approx. 6 seconds and that is all - even if never buckle or you unbuckle the belt while underway (e.g. getting toll booth change from your pocket) the warning is not ever activated again.

Passenger: The warning in the overhead panel above the rearview mirror does not come on at all with an unbuckled passenger in the seat and the ignition on or the car underway - either to warn to buckle from he outset or if the belt is unbuckled while underway.

No other Volvo I have ever driven (or any other car, for that matter) has such an abbreviated/non-functioning seat-belt warning set-up. My Volvo retailer, who has been aware of the problem for about 4 months now, tells me that Volvo has no plans to address the problem?

Does anyone else have the same situation in their 2007 S80?

A real puzzler for a car from the company that invented the 3-point seat belt system!
