Anyone seen this particular combo. Had a bit of a hassle passing state inspection last time and was told I had a coolant temp problem - came up as 0128. Don't even get me started as to why a vehicle could fail a state (NH) safety inspection due to a slightly out of range coolant temp. What the hell ever happened to "Live Free or Die"?!! Bunch of ...

They informed me that they could install a new thermostat for about $350.

Anyway, after a bit of heated discussion as to why I would not pay anyone USD 350 to change a t-stat, they cleared the check engine light and I left. Of course the light came back on within a couple of days - we all knew it would.

Recently decided to fix it due to my wife's constant "suggestions".

Already been here to ask how to clear 0128 - got the idea that a new t-stat would most likely clear it up. It didn't.

Got a cheap code reader from a friend that is supposed to clear the check engine light after a successful repair. Not only did it not clear the alarm, it also revealed a new code. I still get the 0128 and now I also get an 0115.

What's next ? The sensor? The coolant level is good and the system is packed

BTW, what is this I read about installing the t-stat with the little bleed hole facing the front of the engine? What if one just parked facing down hill for a few minutes while the system purged itself?
