I have contributed to this topic previously.

I have a 2006 XC90 that was experiencing a water problem on both front doos in that the water was pooling on the area of the inner/upper sills and flowing into the back pasenger floor area of the vehicle.

Following my reporting the matter to Volvo Global Support and other influential sources pressure was brought to bear on Volvo Australia - they finally acknowledged that I had a problem and authorised/directed the dealer to carry out a modification to both door seals.

This modification involved the cutting of a V in the bottom of each seal, similar to that existing in the seal to the rear doors - ex factory. This they assumed would allow any water that drained onto the inner/upper sill to escape in the same manner as that on the inner/uuper sills of the rear doors.

I have only experienced one occasion of heavy rain since the modifications were carried out - however am pleased to say that when I opened the doors the following morning there was no water pooled on the inner/upper sill to flow out and wet my shoes. I am hoping that the matter is now resolved - further heavy rain will determine the issue.

Other owners with the same problem may wish to try this modifiction to save getting their shoes wet.
