Hi,
Got my Volvo HIDS working by bypassing the PWM signal from the headlights but what is the resistor level to correct the bulb out?

HIDS use 35watts, volvo senses 55watts. Been told i need a 20watt 15ohm resistor? I understand the 20watt bit as the car is 12v, but why / or how have they calculated 15ohm?

Confusing. I have a 10watt 15ohm wirewound resistor already but scared to put it on as i don't want it blowing the light system.

Can i test this outside of the car? If i run the balast, how can i measure the wattage used with a multimetre? ohm?

I've tested the circuit with a cap and the lights stay on for 5 seconds (no flickering) but after that, the car cuts the voltage to the lighting circuit.

Why? Does the bulb out failure cut voltage?

Almost there now!!

Gonna try with a battery connected harness to see if thats any different.

Any ideas?
