Hi guys,

perhaps some of you already replaced your turbo units and will be able to help... I am looking for a replacement turbocharger for my 2003 S40 T4. My engine type is B4204T5. Can anyone tell me the right part number? Or will any S40 turbo unit fit? I know only that there is a high pressure twin scroll one and a low pressure one but that is all...

The correct turbo for your car is the Mitsubishi TD04L-14T twin scroll. The single scroll will also fit but is from the earlier pre MY2000 T4s. It takes a little while longer for it to spool up thats why the twin scroll was introduced.

The normal S40 2.0T engines only use a 12T and wont work on your car.

Thanks Dandle, I finally found the part #... 8627991. The only quest now is to find and buy the part. Everyone seems to be selling only single stroll units. Could anyone comment on how much different a single stroll unit would be from a twin scroll one? Is the turbo lag quite significant?
