Drives: 2003 Volvo XC 90
My car is stranded due to alternator trouble. I want to save 140 dollars and charge my battery to drive it to the repair shop during the day rather than have it towed.

First, how hard is it to get to my battery?

Secondly, what tools do I need to take my battery off?

You take off the positive side of the battery. if your post are on the side, you can use a pair of pliers. they usually have rubber handles. just don't touch them to any metal while on the post. you won't get a shock from touching the battery terminals.
