Hey guys

i own a 2001 volvo s 40 and i love it!
There is one thing that bothers me on it,....
when i lock my doors via the fob my flash lights should blink, same when i unlock
but it wont
do you guys think it may be a sensor or a fuse??
everything helps so let me know

Most common fault for this is your bonnet microswitch not showing bonnet closed. Adjust the switch on the bonnet and see if it fixes it. (opening and slamming the bonnet shut sometimes is a quick indication you are on the right track).

The lights only flash once when you lock it not unlock it, well at least on my 2004. If your lights are not flashing I would think the alarm is probably not arming. I would lock it with the window down and wait a minute. Then reach in and open the door by hand and see if the alarm goes off. If not check all of your door, trunk, and hood switches, if the alarm thinks there is an open door hood or trunk the alarm will not arm.
