On my 2007 S40 2.4i I have the Moonroof control/lighting housing.
There is a small off center green LED in there, what is the point of this? Also There is a small opening / slot which looks like a microphone? What is this? (I don't have BlueTooth), is this just std plastic or is the car pre wired and I just have to pay for the console add on? |

Green light : to give a "green" ambiance. But too weak to be efficient
The grid is not for a microphone but to measure cockpit temperature (for air conditionning) |

Thanks Hulky. If I didnt get the Temp kit, is there a diode there? Can I easily upgrade to the temp system?

[right][snapback]72717[/snapback][/right] I have taken off the panel behind the floating center console before, where there is another HVAC temp sensor, but there is none there because i do not have climate control either and there would be no purpose for it otherwise. i doubt you would be able to upgrade the system without a lot of problems/headaches. You would prob have to tear most of your car apart, let alone having to get the comp updated at the dealer, if i had to guess. |

Also new to the Volvo V50 and I noticed the green LED. Cannot believe it is just for ambience!!! However, can't think what else it could be. I might try blocking it off with Blu-tack for a days or two and see what happens. |

If you block it, you will not see the figures / printings on the gear shift any more. Nothing more...
