Drives: 9/'86 Courier Crew Cab Diesel, '80 Yamaha XT & SR 250's
Guessing: 2.5L - 3L diesel, 4 cyl, non-turbo, 5 spd OD manual, from a ute? What say y'all? KISS principle applies, increases reliability, reduces costs, adequate performance only needed. Retain auto diff ratio.

I don't think it would be very easy unless you want it to be a "fun" project. Volvo originally used the D24 diesel engine from VW, I've never seen one but my guess is it required a adapter/spacer for the tranny.
