Well in my introductory note I mentioned that the car was playing up has had new starter motor ,throttle cable and now new ht leads then stopped again ...now told by man in break down truck that it is the power pack /coil
what next other than the alternator can go wrong with the electrical system

I am told that the power pack will cost 400 quid !!! the coil a mere £50 ish how do I tell if it is the coil or the entire power pack :(

I am not sure what he's going on about the power pack, try Halfords for the coil, and if you need the part the coil plugs into, try a car breaker, If he means the ecu, then check its n0ot had a leak and filled with water, mine did.
