Here is the issue I am having with my 06 V70.
Every time I fill up my gas tank the pump shuts of too late and the gas spills all over the place. It happens at all gas stations although some are worse then others. I've used the same gas stations before with a different car without any problems whatsoever.
I took my car to the dealer twice already. First time they said they cleaned some sensor. Which makes no sense since the car is off when I am pumping gas so I don’t see how a sensor can be involved (but what do I know). The next time they told me that the tube was disconnected (which happened after they tried to fix it the first time). I am taking my car back again.
I called Volvo and got no information from them other then a suggestion to go back to the dealer. But the person on the phone was really nice.
So I was wondering if anyone has any idea of what it could be.

it sounds like a vent tube is blocked. do you smell gas in and around the car at all? try this, after a long drive, get out and open the gas cap, does it sound like it is venting? you know, like a deep breath?

I took my car to the dealer on Monday. They cleaned the tube. I got the gas today. The pump didn't shut off at all. It just started to sounds funny so I stopped pumping. Pulled the nozzle out and got gas all over the place. Could the tube itself be defective?
I also think it’s a time to try another local dealership.
