Hello all. I'm a new guy on the site with a "new" 1999 C70 with almost every problem that can be wrong. One of them is that although the top seems to be all the way up, the sensor doesn't believe it and keeps the buzzer going and going. The top worked when I first got it, but after I got the car back from the shop (to fix several other unrelated problems), the sensor is upset and now the top won't go through the lowering process. It will lift the rear edge a few inches and suddenly stop. The front never disengages. Could this all be a sensor problem? Any way to override? Thanks! Michael

I have same problem - dealer changed some switches $$$ and it worked exactly once. Their soloution : replace top and liner. Top and rear window are in good condition so I am trying to find some kind of schematic on the sequencing of releases etc. (my rear piece comes up but front remains locked too)

I finally broke down and took it to the dealer ($$$) who claimed it needed 2 potentiometers. They didn't fix it on the first try. They wanted to start replacing other parts that I know weren't broken, and after some heated discussion, they diagnosed further and said that they had installed a bad potentiometer and a second try fixed it. I still wonder if it was just a calibration issue from the beginning. Oh well.

In looking at the top while it is half open, I noticed that there are left and right side rollers that fit into guides. The roller on the driver's side doesn't line up with the guide as well as it does on the other side, the rubber roller is very worn and there is some scarring on the metal guide. I took my car into the dealer and pointed this out. They worked on it for a day, and said they realigned the guide and roller and ordered new rollers which they will install next week. They also said they cleared out some fault sensors. For two days things worked OK. Hooray. But now the warning light has started up again, although now only 20% of the time instead of 80%. I will keep you posted on where it goes from here.
