I'm considering making the headlight conversion to bring my 2000 conv up to date a bit but I"m pretty green on this.

I'd appreciate any insight, advice or help particulary from those of you who may have done this already.

Thanks!

I just did the conversion on my 01 yesterday.

I used a kit from Sharp hid He has a kit specifically designed to for the S/V/C 70 series. I have his installation guide in PDF or you can go to his site and grab it.
www.sharphid.com

There are some cheaper HID kits at e-bay but paid a little more and went for the lifetime warranty setup with the thin ballasts. It was sweet with no light out messages. Sharp knows Volvo's and has built a good kit.

Good luck, there are a number of Blog discussions on this if you want more opinions.

What is the specific kit? Link us to it.

I have a kit from SharpHID and it is the Apexcone 35w system with the lifetime warranty. Great kit. Buy from John @ SharpHID you wont regret it.

Also the installation is so easy.

It's the DDM Kit. He's doing a special upgrade right now to the Slim for the price of the standard Apexcone.

"FREE UPGRADE! Order our 35w or 50w Apexcone kits and you will automatically be upgraded to the DDM Slim 35w or new 55w kit."

Here's the specific site. http://www.sharphid.com/ddm35w.htm

Be sure to decide what temperature you want the light at and what bulb you will be replacing. In my 01 I replaced the H7's and went for the 6000K temp to help out the grey days up here.

Yuip, I was concerned that using the 35W kit would create a "light out message". This was not the case with the Sharp kit and the C70. No harness needed either,

Here's a pic of the lamps installed

They look too blue for my taste. What are those 8000k?

6000K, I might ratchet down a click when I replace the bulbs next time. I had a blue sky to my back when I took the shot so it is enhanced a bit here. The lamps are almost exactly the same color as my 05 TSX (that I got rid of) so it doesn't look too aftermarket. (just a little ricey)
