Hi. Recently my 2004 S80 have been acting strangely.
When I turned the ignition on the Boot Open warning would come on, and indeed the boot was open. It seemed initially that using the remote key to open the doors was the problem, but then I noted that it would happen if I used the key itself, or the extra key, so the unlocking mechanism seemed to be the problem.
To make matters even more confusing, sometimes it doesn't happen, and on a few occassions the alarm has been triggered when I opened the door with the key.
Otherwise I love this car.

I've also noted that when I remove the key from the ignition and get out of the car, the boot has opened again? Ghost in the machine?

Any ideas?

Probably water ingress ino your boot switch in the housing that holds the number plate lamps.
