Afternoon all.

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I have got oil leaking from the rear of my S40 2.0S non turbo engine and it looks like something is missing from a hole (approx. 20-25mm dia) positioned just below the exhaust manifold. has anyone got any ideas what could be missing?

many thanks

Your missing a blanking plug that normally sits in the hole where oil is leaking out. The hole is used on a turbo car for the turbo oil return, as your car is not a turbo a blanking plug should be there. I have seen these litle metal plugs fall out and have replaced them. It is a tight pain to get in (you need to hammer it in). Even a good tech can take an hour or to trying to get one in and in a worst case the driveshaft and exhaust may need to be removed for it to be possible.

Thanks for that.

I have sorted out now, ended up taking some snaps and popped into the local Volvo dealer in Coventry where they sold me a new cap for £1.65.
I have just fitted (you are right it was a right pain to install)

Thanks any way for the reply. This is the first time I have used this type of forum but probably not the last.

Cheers!
