Anyone can help me what is the suitable size alloy wheel for my S80 (T, 1999, 2.5tdi, AUTO). Thanks. The one I am using is 215/55/16, can I use 225/50/17 or other size?

On the inside of your petrol filler cover-Volvo installed a recommended set of wheel sizes and tyre sizes for your particular S80.

That cover installation is probably going to be your best recommendation.

For what this is worth-Michellin say that twenty per cent of your fuel is used simply to turn your wheels/tyres.

I use the smaller size on my car-but I don't want to compromise my fuel economy-so the smaller size is the only option for me.

I am using the same size tyre as you are using.

I don't know if I confused you further-but there is a lot of discussion from various experts in this forum. Grab a large cup of coffee and set aside about three hours and look throughout this forum-you might find more information to help you or confuse you further.

auckland is correct, make sure it is a HUGE mug of coffee. now, my tires are bigger than those, but I also had to roll the lips on my fenders to clear them and use some spacers on the fronts. on your 80, it might rub on the turning the wheel if you go for the 17's.

You will probably end up with a recommendation of 225/45/17 instead of a 225/50. When I went from 16's on my S60 to 17's the recommendation was for a 45 series tire.
