i just purchases a 200 v40 two days ago, has 123000 miles in decent shape, now lo and behold i have a thumping noise when i drive sounds like the front right tire area, i was told the front axle assembly had been replaced. could this possibly be a repeat of that? is there any way i can test that, anything else i should be looking for? anything i can do to help you help me figure it out?.....any help greatly appreciated, thank gary

A little more detail required I think, any noise when in neutral, does it get worse with speed, does it get worse when turning, any noise when going over speed humps etc, what happens when going down the road and then depressing the clutch so there is no drive.

.....thanks for the reply...with further investigation, i discovered it was the lug nuts on the tires that were loose, it took me a couple of days to have the free time to look at it, i read elsewhere in post that this happens to other v40's, is there a solution to this? would a light to mid level locktite work? ....thank for you help

torque to 110nm.
