couple questions:
1. I'm plan to do my own oil change on 2001 v40. what's the best oil and oil filter I should use?
2. the manual says oil change interval is 75k miles or 125k km. is this too long? i thought usually oil needs to be changed every 5-6k?

I have been replacing mine with Volvo OEM filters every 30000 miles and using Mobil 0W/40 fully synthetic oil although the oil you use will depend upon the general weather conditions you plan on driving in.

question, are we talking tranny oil or engine oil? 30,000 miles before you change your motor oil. please tell me that's your tranny....because I run amsoil in my R and I do it every 6-7,000 miles instead of 3-4,000 miles on conventional oils. I use the amsoil filters also. the tranny runs amsoil synthetic oil also.

Granted, mistake by me, transmission oil changed at every 30000 and engine oil at approx every 7500. Still use Mobile 0W/40 and Volvo filters.
Howard, which oil were you asking about with a 75000 mile change?
