I asked a question about tire size and received an answer on this site. Perhaps I overlooked a more important question. Will 16x7 wheels from an 2002 s80 fit safely on an 1995 850? The larger wheels have a higher offset number. Will this be an issue? I notice that 16" wheels made for the 850 have a 6.5 width compared to the 7" width of these new wheels. Thanks in advance for any info about this.

I have studied the Tire Rack's selection of wheels for the 850 and I see both 6.5 and 7.0 rim widths offered in 16" so I feel better about this. I am guessing that this will work fine.

I had Cetus (15" x 6.5" 43mm offset) on my sons 850. Took the Mimas wheels off my S60 (16" x 7" 43mm offset) and put them on his 850 with the 205/55/16 tires that were on them. Fit was no problem at all. No rubbing or any other problems. Unless the offset is significantly different you should not have any problems.

You can see them in this forum under Wheel Upgrade S60 7 850.

I believe that the original wheels have a 38mm offset and the new ones have 43mm. I hope that is not too much of a difference.

I couldn't wait for winter to end and I mounted these wheels and they work great with no rubbing. These 215/55/16's really grab the road in comparison to the 185/55/15's (snow tires) that they replaced.
