I looked at a second hand volvo today with an LPG conversion a V70 2.4L 170bhp.

Having trundled about in an old 440TDi, i expected to have to go real easy on the throttle with the 2.4 Litre pretol engine.

The "engine management" warning light ( yellow with a picture of an engine on ) was permanently on. During the whole test drive performance was sluggish, reasonable top speeds were there but just not the acceleration I'd have expected of a 2.4l.

I did try putting old fashioned unleaded in and driving it but I couldn't get the warning light to go out, poss. due to not completely turning off ignition before restarting ( ie. I left the key in ). The salesman did manage to get the light to go out when I returned to showroom, but I didn't have the time to take it back out on the road.

Any ideas as to why this could have happened...?
