The washer motor on my 1997 960 doesn't work (fuse is fine), and the washer reservoir neck leaks fluid - that is, the bottle itself seems to retain fluid below the rubber collar that joins bottle to filler neck, but fluid in the neck leaks out. I'd like to remove the whole assembly for refurbishment, and it appears I can do so if I remove the airbox, but am not sure how to get that lower airbox assembly out. Can anybody advise me on how to get to this reservoir and remove it? And yes, I will order the factory service manual soon. =) TIA.

I finally addressed the issue of getting the 960 washer bottle out. The bottle is a flat affair that sits in a well on the car's left engine compartment. The filler neck connect to the bottle by a rubber collar on the bottle. Just disconnect the airbox from its inlet and outlet plenums, pull out the filler neck, disconnect the washer fluid level sensor and washer motor connectors, and pull the airbox up and out (its mounted by two lugs to respective woogies; each simply pulls free. You might want to lube each woogie with diluted dish detergent first.) The bottle can then be tiped up off its registration pin and lifted free.

Now to figure out how to disassemble the pump assembly to clear what sounds like a jammed impeller.
