I need some advice on repairing somewhat small paint scratches on few areas on my car.
I have a black painted S40 2005 model. The paint process seems strong on these newer cars but the clear coat looks terribly whitish when scratch and hard to miss on a black car.

Does anyone know of some easy product to fill scratches actually not of the paint but of the clear coat?
I’m not going to re-do the all car just for few and local areas. I’m looking for solution that will give me good results by hand and that will fill the clear coat scratches that varies from deep to light scrape mark, and from thin to wide.

I have professional skill in modeling but I do not know much of products for cars especially for something that would work well with newer Volvo models.

Thanks a bunch for any help :) .

Greg

has the scratch gone all the way through to the bare metal? if so, you need to do it professionally to keep the metal from rusting under the rest of the paint. if it is the clear coat, the best you can do, other than paint the whole car, is to have it buffed out. also professionally. unless you have done polishing before. you don't want to burn through the clear coat and the paint. all it takes is a few seconds of not paying attention or too much pressures. good luck

No not at all! Has I said it is more of a clear coat issue I have than a paint issue. Isn't there any product out their you can apply to remove the brushed feel of the clear coat once it has been bruched by some wooden branches for example?

It sounds like you need to take an polisher/buffer to the paint. Without some high quality pics it's hard to tell you exactly what's wrong. More than likely if you take a polsher to the paint using a polishing compound/scratch remover, that should take care of your issue. Then use a quality wax.

Either that or go to a pro detailer

I'll get some photo shots but from the few post it sounds that my options are limited...
Thanks for the input though

Try Meguiars Scratch X. It's only a few dollars, I have a dark car like yours and it works really well for me.

Avoid buffing or excessive polishing, that would just erode the clearcoat.

Unfortunatly I haven't had time to take care of it. Still I will try to take some image to share and see how best to proceed.
I'll keep you updated...
