I cuurently live in Washington state. I own a 2000 V70 Canadian Volvo. When I bought the car I remember reading that in order to sell the car privately in the USA, I had to change the cluster to an American version. One with MPH. The cluster simply has KMH on it now. I am getting ready to sell and just bought a V70 dash cluster off ebay. My car currently has 183,000km on it and this dash is listed as having 95K miles on it. I am wondering a couple of things.

1. How difficult is the exchange of the cluster? Is there a website that details out the procedure?

2. What are the legalities in changing this out and how do I notify the DMV. I can disclose to a buyer, but it seems it needs to be listed somewhere.

I'm not sure but I think you can just have it reset to MPH vs. KPH and you don't have to exchange the entire cluster. Check your owners manual.

Unfortunately, not in the volvo. Some cars have that feature. Temperature is the only feature that can do that.
