I have an 1.8 s40 sport with aslight clunk sound coming from the front sometimes when I pull away and sometimes when I slowing down. Its very very slight clunk and u can just about feel it throught the steering wheel: volvo specialist who just slags volvos off dont now why his bothers. said it was drive shaft or engine mounts >>> what do u reckon tech??

Have they checked the sway bar links and upper spring seats?It could also be an axle shaft.I have seen the axles go bad before and have slop in them.

UPDATE :clap:

Had it checked at volvo main dealer and turns out it the centre section exhaust. Its was noted on the last service as the baffles having gone. It rattles slightly on idle sometimes but apparently its causing this knocking sound.
