so this has happened twice since I got my car (08 2.4i V50) a few weeks ago.

Basically right after I start the car I drop it into D or Reverse and my steering gets really tight, then i get a message on my dash that says Power Steering Service Needed.

I then turn the engine off and back on and everything is fine... anyone experience this? anyone know whats going on? i'm gonna ask the dealer when i pick up my plates...

Could your belt be slipping on the power steering fluid pump, such that it is not circulating the p/s fluid? I can't think of any other reason why this would occur?
