Does anyone have a general idea on around how much it would cost to get full tints on a 2001 Volvo S40 1.9 t?

Probably around $125 - $150. I bought a gift certificate for Christmas to do my sons 850 and it was $145.

Agree with....jks2...on the price...Although may depend where you live....If you reside in the southwest, may cost you more due to the demand.....I'd check with your state department of motor vehicles first to see if its allowed..Some states like California it is not.....
I've seen most SUV's (New) have tinted side and back windows (fairly light) and both passenger and drivers door are clear..This way they can offer factory tint (and charge you more) and still be allowable in all states....
Each state has there regulations on this, so best check first.......

I also agree with JKS2 on the price. depending on the darkness wanted, here in NYC, it goes up according to the darkness, but also the inevitability of you getting pulled over for too dark of a tint. check with DOT first. maybe you can get a 20-25% on the fronts while getting away with a 30-40% on the rears. remember that a too dark rear window will inhibit your ability to see out the back. nothing like a good smashed rear bumper while backing up in the dark to really piss you off. :) good luck and post some pics, before and after.

try a reputable sound shop, usually they do tints and sound systems. try to stay away from those car wash/tint/stereo guys. from experience, not the most reliable. if you can, ask around to people with good tint jobs, the kind without the little bubbles, or streaks, or rips and tears. look to see how close they can come to the edges of the glass without pulling and that their edges are straight. it sound kind of anal, but nothing will annoy you more than when you can see the mistake because you will ALWAYS see the mistake. good luck

I've had all of mine done at a place called Auto Trim & Design. They specialize in tinting etc. Don't know if they are a national company or not. I've had 2 cars done by them and in 7 years have not had one single bubble, delamination, etc. It's worth the extra money to have a professional do the work.
