Hi everyone,

About a year ago I bought a V40 1.6 with a HU-605 radio. This has been working fine up until 2 months ago. The problems started when I left a light inside the car on overnight which then caused a flat battery. Had to put in the code, which I have, and everything worked fine again. However 1 or 2 days later, I started the car but the radio wasn't working at all. No lights, nothing at all. At first I thought maybe a fuse had blown, but after 2 more days I was driving on the motor way, decided to try it again and it suddenly started up and worked fine....

This on/off thing has been going on for a while now and in the meanwhile my battery has gone flat several times, probably because it has never been charged fully again and the cells in the battery are to damaged to restore it to full power. The radio has now not been working for 3 weeks though, so I doubt it will get back on...

I thought that maybe the radio would stop working when the battery goes below a certain power level, however after buying a new battery 3 days back the radio is still not doing anything whatsoever.

Is it the fuse after all? And if it is, does anyone know where it's located, so I can replace it? Or is the radio gone broken?

Well if anyone has any info or tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Thx!

Try cleaning contacts, maybe use contact grease

- fuse on radio
- all contacts and sockets to and from HU
