What's up guys! I just picked up an '08 Volvo XC90, which replaced my modified '03 Audi A4. Decided to go for car that was more my age.
However, I am still planning on putting some modifications on the vehicle. The first on the lineup is my lighting. Unfortunately, my local Volvo dealer cut me an awesome deal on a non-xenon car so I took it. Has anyone successfully put on an aftermarket H11 Xenon kit for their lowbeams? If so, does it throw any codes? If so, do resistors do the trick? Thanks in advance Volvo-forum community and I will do my best to contribute to this forum. |

Are you both getting the full kit?
I have just ordered the xenon gas bulbs only that should simply replace the standard halogen ones. I should be receiving this soon from the USA (got them off ebay) as I live in Sydney. will let you know how they turn out. |

how did it go?
i was told that replacing the bulbs alone won't be enough and that the whole kit (ie ballast) is needed...if not why go through the trouble of getting a HID kit when all one would need is just the bulbs?? |

it's going to be a xenon-like bulb. one of those bulbs that throw a different light heat color. almost a deeper blue than the purplish blue of a real xenon. you need the ballast. otherwise we all would be riding with xenons.
