hi, i have a 2.0d v50 2004. 110k on the clock
the car is lovley to drive, starts great and ticks over perfect but at about 1500rpm there is a rattle from the top end, a bit like tappets. there are no codes and no warning lights on. i was wondering if anyone else had suffered this or might know the cause, would be greatful for any help, many thanks jon.

I would have the valve clearance checked, sometimes the hydraulic tappets die sooner, or can't stand synthetic oil. The noise means the clearance is too big and that puts wear and tear on the camshaft.
