Depends on the year of the car.Everything 99 and up is 105,000 timing belt change. If you don't change it and it breaks it will cost you about $3,000.

My father just paid GBP 2500 to have his engine rebuilt, due to a timing belt failure, and that was NOT at dealer labour charges.

The annoying thing was that he was used to getting in changed at 60k, however the nice friendly salesman insisted it didn't need doing until 80k.

Suffice to say the car has 66k on the clock.

TIMING BELT CHANGES ARE CHEAP COMPARED TO A NEW ENGINE.

I'd never buy a second hand car without changing the belt.

There is also a year range in there. If the car sits for a while it should be changed sooner.Or if it is a low milage car that sit tons more than it is driven it should be replaced sooner.
