I'll need to replace my 88 240GL auto wagon's (>250,000km) rear wheel bearings (source & $ of kit, anyone?) as there is abt 5mm end float in the wheel. I'm suspicious that I'll need to replace the axles too?

The OD relay can be replaced with an ordinary on/off switch-the circuit in the case is just a bi-stable 555 timer or equivalent-a very simple, cheap circuit, easily substituted by any basic technician.

I've replaced my speedo's broken 25Tooth plastic gear with a 25T x 10mm dia aluminum toy car gear from a hobby shop for abt $12.50, and a bit of filing down to make it thin enough. A bush made from a piece of biro ink tube and it's complete and working with some cleaning and oiling. And it won't break again-ever.

I want to do some occasional towing, upto 700kg. I'm recommended light truck tyres, at least for the rear. What think y'all? What size/brand? Std Italian made 14" rims. OD will be disabled when towing.
