hi, im Ben, i just bought a 2001 Volvo S40 1.9T, but i have a problem, my car doesnt haul-****!! its very slow and would like to know if anyone knows how i can give my car a little umpf! i have a check engine lite on and i scanned my computer and it gave me a code stating to check cranshaft sensor, but i dont think that can be the problem, i just think volvos are slower than most cars since they are made for comfort, so can anyone help?

Im used to driving fast, (owned a 1999 Honda civic SI turbo 320HP/331 lbs. Torque) and i know i cant get that kind of performance out of the stock motor with out replacing my stock motor with a V8. ive been reading about PPC and IMP ECU's but none are compatible with 2001 S40 AHHH!!! so please if anyone has a **** S40 1.9T please let me know what i can do. thanks!!

I have a 2000 S40 1.9T When I scanned it it said the crankshaft position was off and there was a misfire in cylinder 3. I replaced spark plugs and easy stuff then just took it to a volvo professional and it was my coils. Got it fixed and broke 140mph on the highway, I haul **** everywhere and love my volvo. I would check on your coils

don't knock the volvo. there are tons of volvo owners here who have some serious rocking cars. take care of the scanned code first then see if there is any difference.

I had a similar diagnosis but found that unplugging and replugging the connectors fixed my sensor......
