I just finished installing the PA-11 VOL iPod adaptor (aftermarket from USA SPEC) and it seems to work just fine. No interference when accelerating/reving the engine, or anything else while using it.
However, with the ignition turned off, there is a soft but distinct hum/buzz from behind the radio unit? Any ideas of the cause? I tapped into the red power line with a tap connector, and it is a secure connection. Could there be an issue with the choke/filter assembly.

Anyone have any experience with the PA-11 VOL adaptor? Thanks! Bill

Pull radio and determine exactly what is buzzing. If adapter is buzzing, disconnect power wires and cables one at a time till noise stops. Could have a better answer if you knew what was buzzing.

I pulled out the radio unit and the CCM. As it turns out, the CCM has a small fan on the back side that is continuously running, even with the car turned off. I don't ever recall hearing the fan before. Also, everytime I change the temp controls, there is a corresponding 'whir' for a few seconds, almost as if a valve is turning to route air with different temps.

Is this normal? Again, have never noticed it before, and it may have been masked by the engine noise, airstream, and radio playing....

Could be that the CCM buzz and your IPOD install are just a coincidence. If you have owned the car for a while I would highly doubt that the buzz and whir have always been there. I would disconnect the power and ground from adapter to see if buzz goes away.
Just as a reference, how did you test for 12volts and ground?
