Hi, just bought a '96 460ES (not 480 ES unfortunatly!) and the centre panel (heater /etc) illumination is not working. Quick attempt at dismantling suggests there must be a better way - suggestions requested... Oh yes, and first post, so hello everyone!

The panels above and below should just pull out, you may then be able to access the bulb from one of these positions, the heater controls are the only ones that dont just pop out, be careful as the clock connections are usually only just long enough to connect befopre pushing in.

its easy.get a pair of pliers and a bit of rag. place the rag over the top of one of the heater turn switches and pull of with the pliers.
do this on all three of them and then with a thin flat blunt blade prize of the illumination panel you will then see the bulbs which just pull out and then replace as ness.then just replace the parts as were and thats it. five minute job at the most and the bulbs are cheap.
hope this helps just remember be careful not to break anything alng the way. :gitara:
