I didn't see this posted elsewhere, so I figured I'd share.

I went looking for a K+N replacement air filter a couple weeks ago, and the local advance auto didn't have anything listed for the c30, other than a basic purolator filter.
There are no K+N part numbers at all for any c30 according to their computers, but they do have one for the 07 s40 t5. I took a chance and had one ordered (no volvo parts in stock, i guess).

I can confirm that the 07 s40 t5 filter fits the c30 just fine. I assume it will fit any s/v40/v50/c30 (06+) with the t5.
Acceleration is noticeably smoother and you can tell the engine is breathing better. I havn't measured gas mileage improvements, but if i had to guess maybe an extra mpg or so.
Either way, i'm not worried, i like the new feel much better.

Glad it worked. I have K & N's in all my vehicles. Not only do they offer better performance, in the long run they save you money.

Not only that, but the old filter makes a great swatter if any of your friends ever says anything dopey about your volvo. :57:

It helps if its dirty. That way you can see where each smack lands and move on to an undamaged part of the body.

Take the old one out, and put a new one in

Seriously though, and no offense, but if you know your way around an engine bay you will find it. If not, your owner's manual might have a pic of the engine and tell what things are. :57:

I deserved that! Stupid way to pose a question. There is no help in the manual, and I have tried the basics but being new to Volvo and the lack of room in the engine compartment, I am not sure how to proceed. I have looked online and so far haven't found any good references. Any help would be appreciated. Just got a new filter from EuroSport.

Figured it out. Two screws and pull up - there it is.Just put in a filter from EoroSport.
A little less lag but no huge difference.

Changing the air filter is pretty easy, the oil filter not so much. For future reference, it's on the left side of the engine, under some stuff.

how much power were you expecting? it is not a cure all, now you can start saving up for the power mods. your engine now is breathing better, next, exhaust, then the chips, turbos, etc. and etc. then the poor house with the rest of us. super fast cars, no money for gas
