My first post and I am hopping for some solutions.

2000 Volvo s40 gas. There was a great storm in my area and my car window was open. Water went inside the car and the car was dead. Replace my ECU and immobilizer. Before these changes the car would display the immobilizer light on the panel and would not even crank. Now it does not display the immobilizer light and the car cranks without starting

Now the car would crank for couple of times and then would die. Also, when the codes were pulled, VGLA would not communicate with the dealer computer.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

The ecu needs to be programmed to communicate with the car. Only main dealers can do this. It means you cant buy a used ecu and fit it to your car without visiting the dealer.
