Hello, been looking arround at others posts but I'm not exactly finding an answer to my issue.

We have had this car for a while and other than some oil leaks it has been dependable. Just recently though the oil got a little low and the motor started to knock. It doesn't seem to effect gas milliage, It's not over heating, It usually only does it from about 40mph and up, It gets worse the faster I go, It goes away under acceration, and it only seems to happen while I'm maintaining my current speed.

I was thinking possibly lifters but I'm unsure. Does anybody have any ideas?

Does changing the oil to higher\thicker grade help ?

Well I just did an oil change yesterday and the knocking went down quite a bit but today it is a little louder again. It is not as bad as it was before though.

Do you hear the knocking by the oil pan ? Are you sure the noise is not coming from anything else like the power steering pump or alternator or anything else ?
