Hey Guys,

I'm new too- there seems to be a lot of us.

I'm trying to take off my door panel because my window motor is blown.

Are there directions?

Do I have to buy that tool for $16.95 for the clips?

THanks for the HELP..

Matt

It's not hard, but there are tricks. I'm not gong to type it all out again. Go to VolvoSpeed and search for posts by DouginDenver. I typed it out within the year.

Hi,

Just done this myself.

Piece of cake, just remove the plugs around the bottom of the door panel. To do this ease them out as much as possible with a flat blade screwdriver and then use long nose pliers slipped in behind the plug cap to pull them right out. They will come eventually with a little persuasion.
Next use a scribe or something similar to remove the little cover in the inside door handle and remove the allen screw with an allen key.
You can now remove the panel by pulling it away from the door, up and away from the car.
Lastly separate the plugs for the wiring.
Good luck.

Ken

That may work, but that is not really the correct procedure. The little rivets at the bottom - you actually press the center in about 1/4", then they practically fall out. There are other tricks. Easiest to search for my Volvospeed post.

I agree. Push the centres of the pop rivets in by about 1/4 inch, then pull the trim. They practically fly out. To replace, replace the rivets with the trim in position then insert the centres until flush.

Would you mind posting a link?!? My passenger door lock actuates both ways but only locks. I have no issues w/inner door panel removal or any work...just like a legs-up/preview of what I'm about to get into, when I can. Door opens w/inner handle only. Kind of a bummer having to crawl across the seat to let a passenger in. I haven't found post on volvo-forums.com...Maybe "DIY" should tell me something, but it doesn't (besides the obvious). Access to door latch looks challenging and "door lock motor replacement post" looks like what I'm looking for!
