Recently painted my sons grille in his black 850 GLT sedan black. Like the way it turned out. I'm thinking of painting the grille in my white 02 S60 white. What do you guys think? Don't hold back. I'm a big boy and I can take it. :)

Hey bro, try a light gray instead of white. Or a non brilliant white, like a matte hue. The reason being that it is in the wind and it will get grungy, at least if it is matte or a seriously light gray color, it will, one, offset the whiteness, two, it won't be as grungy looking. Or go for the brushed aluminum look.

Agree with TheGreekMason. IOM, either grey or brushed aluminum.

Would like to see some pics when done though...

Yeah! And then I could paint the radiator white, and the motor and the fire wall and the interior and the trunk and the windows. Just call me ghost rider. No seriously I'm going to take some white paper or tape or something and cover parts of it tomorrow to see if I'll like the look. Right now I'm leaning towards painting it. I'll let you guys know what I decide.

I quite like the grille colors of the late XC70. Metallic grey (not dark, but not too light either).

You should consider
- whether you want the diagonal badge to stand out or not.
- the color of the car and relationship of the grille to it.

Before you start, try a taking a pic of the car, then use a photo editor to color the grill, that should be a good indicator.

If you check out my garage, you will see extensive experimentations I have done with my grille, soon I'll post it on the forum with remarks when I get more time.

I definitely want the diagonal & badge to stand out. I would not paint them, as I didn't when we painted the 850 grille black. My car is white and the pics I've seen with white grilles did look pretty good. Good idea on photo editing. I'll check out your garage too.

I didn't realize you were going to keep the badge and slash. That's different. either go for the light grey/matte white with a corresponding darker color for the badge, or go for a brilliant white for the badge and slash. That contrast would be sweet. If you are artistic, try painting it on. I had an ex who did the pontiac symbols on my old TransAm and they looked effin great. Just two more cents. or hey, try flames if you remove the grille. Then you'll really be ghost rider. hahahahahahaha dude, friends don't let friends get dumb. help man, don't dangle the bair.

Personally, I would leave the badge and diagonal slash unchanged & chromes. Go with a darker grey or mid grey on the grille.
