I have just purchased the 2nd Volvo in my collection. The first one was a 244 and the new one is a 264 GLE. Sadly two days into ownership the 264 has developed a hestation under acceleration which may result in stalling. Some investigations have led to me checking all the vacuum pipes - one was damaged and repaired...the others were chopped and given a tighter connection. When blipping the throttle the engine will almost choke and die then pick up. More agressive use of the throttle with result in stalling. I am also surprised at the running temperature ( albeit it reported by the gauge ) which is just under the RED area.

Does anyone have any pointers on where to start looking? Overall the car has been serviced regularly for the last 19 years and mechanically was fine on the day of purchase!!!
