I went to amsoil oil in the crankcase and the tranny. HUGE DIFFERENCE! shifts are tighter and there was no more "hunting" feeling. it is synthetic and costs more but the service intervals are longer. fyi, one has 113,000 the other 181,000.

i've got that 'hunting' thing going on,it's done 170,000 so i guess it can't hurt.does the 'box have to be flushed or is it just a straight change?

You can just change it but you should change it again soon if you flush it you can get all the old burnt fluid out at the same time its not that hard to flush it you just unhook the output\return cooler line from the radiator and let the fluid pump out as you keep adding the new fluid you do this until the fluid comes out clean or like what your pouring in you might have to put it in drive and block the wheel to pump the fluid out depending on what transmission you have.

as long as you don't use a hydralic pump to flush out the system. it is bad for the internal seals.
