I have a 2000 volvo c70 convertible. I have noticed that the driver's seat (leather) from the getting in and getting out of the car is wearing badly. Any suggestions on fixing this situation??

:57: I also have the leather seats and they show signs of wear, although no rips..
I use a good leather treatment/cleaner about every couple of months and feel this helps and believe the only way to correct the wear indication is to get the seats re-upholstered....
Its expensive and best to shop around at various shops to get it done...If you do select business to get the work done, I'd ask they give me names of former customers so you can call for recommendation.....Good luck

Depends on what you mean by wear. They can be re-dyed fairly easily.

thanks for the responses.....what i mean by wear and tear is the driver's seat from getting in and out is worn out......basically the leather in one part seems to have worn off and now, it looks like cloth.

That is just the way bucket seats are, The more side support the more wear you will see on a seat from getting it and out. My wife put covers on her seats but to me covers are only for when the seat is trashed.

I have had older cars that the leather held up much better with more side bolster. Volvo's choice of leather is just not that great. My mustang wore MUCH better than the Volvo does. The only fix is covers or have them re-covered

I just "re-did" my 2000 c70 seats this week. my seats were badly cracked and worn and the armrest was showing some of that cloth (previous owner let her 2 Pugs run wild!). I'm not exactly sure what this guy did but i do know that he did some sanding and definitely re-dyed them and matched the color quite well. He said the cracks will most likely some back in some form but they do look 100% better. $400 was the cost. I got his name from a local dealer that said he does all this type of work for them. Good luck!

Could you ask him what he used to fill the cracks?

Seems like the leather are quite thin. Eventhough they are bucket seats, I still think the leather are just substandard. The whole re-upholstering is just expensive. And the cover that one can buy at wal-mart are just terrible. I wish there are just portion of leather one could match the color and somewho stick to the most vunerable part because it is really just the side bolsters that needed extra support. I don't want to cover the whole seat. Another option is to buy sheepskin for about $100 per seat. I am thinking of that option. What do you guys think?

what, and sweat your **** off in the summer? if you are going for the seat covers, remember you have the srs bags in the side, if you cover them, the bags won't deply if needed, hopefully never. i have seen a product on ebay that some of the members here have used and have said that it works. i don't remember on which board but try a search of the forums. i remember that it was purchased from some guy on ebay. good luck and keep us posted.

Does anyone know if it'd be possible to put the seat covers from another Volvo model with the same seats (and SPS) into the C70. I'm talking front seats. In the 242s the seat back cover was the same as the 244s, it just had a slit in the side for the seat back release.

The seats in my 780 put the C70s to shame. And I think the leather is nicer than in my parent's Volvos too. Though Dad has an '07 V70 R with the "basketball" interior so its not a fair comparison. To be fair to the C70 though its got the 780 beat in functional power seat adjustments - they all work.
