This is my first post, and I'm probably in the wrong forum, so please excuse this beginner.

I have the V50 T5 wagon with 17,000 miles, and the OEM Michelin tires (205/50R 17 93V) are a disappointment - the front tires are nearly worn out! The toe-in was out, but I had that fixed.

I'm thinking about the Yokohama YK520 tires.

Any comments/opinions on the Yokohama's?

PS - I live in virginia

Regards,

Mike, I also have a V50 AWD wagon (2007), but my OEM tires are Continental CV95s. I have no complaints with them at 7.5k miles. However, on my previous Volvo (an XC70), I had Pirellis, whose handling I loved. They were a softer tire, but they lasted for 45k. My complaint with Volvos is not tires, but brake pads -- I always buy the expensive official Volvo pads and they just don't last more than 15k miles.

As for Yokohama tires, as long as you do not get the Aegis style -- which has a soft sidewall -- you will be pleased. I bought Yokos for two AWD Subaru legacy wagons. On one I got the Aegis style and did not like it -- punctures and road hazards just seemed to happen with the softer sidewall. Of course, it could be coincidence. I have a van with Yoko Geolanders and they are a good value for money. Two sets in 95k miles.

If you live in Northern Virginia, I highly recommend Radial Tire Co. in Silver Spring, MD. I have been buying all my tires from them since 1984 and have been pleased with their prices and service. You will benefit from their experience in their recommendations, too, but they leave the final decision up to you.

Good luck, LLCarlJ
