Most things work fine on my "new" V40 2L (bought it 6 weeks ago, 1997 model). But I only noticed the other night that the interior lights don't come on when I open the driver door - they come on with all other doors.

Any ideas?

you'll have to take out the switch on the door pillar and give it a good clean - the contacts go a bit green and create a break in the connection...

Hope this helps

Thanks. Sorry for late reply. Will try it out. Is it easy enough to get to the switch?

this sounds like it may be the answer to my question in the 850 forum.

So the driver's switch (that the door hits to signal open/close the line for the lights to come on/off) could potentially be damaged?

Thats a great place to start..

Maybe - the only reason I suggested it before was that it was happening only to Joseph's driver door. If you interior lights aren't coming on with any of your door opening, then you'll have a different problem...
