Drives: Volvo v40
Engine with 120K miles has blown due to loss of coolant on the highway. Cyclinder head probably damaged $3-5k to fix at dealer. Any suggestions? Anyone need a parts car?

Best bet is to find someone who is prepared to buy it off you to put a new engine in and get it back on the road for themselves.

My 2001 V40D lost its turbo and damaged the cats etc on the A1 in the north of england. Am looking at £2000 min to get it back on the road - its done 140,000 miles so its just not worth it. The body + interior is in very good condition so Im hoping for about £500 for it.

It might help to find an independant volvo specialist garage as they will probs have some good contacts. Not sure about the states, but you just get ripped off scrapping cars in the UK.
