Hi

I have a problem with a 94 940 Wentworth Est 2.0T - ABS light does not come on when starting (no self test?) also appears that ABS is not functioning (tested on quiet gravelly car park at 25mph+) - and as far as I can see the diagnostic tester in the engine compartment works fine for everything except ABS circuit. So far tried swapping over to a new (s/h) ABS ECU with no luck - tried checking over connections to positive terminal on battery - still no luck - any ideas anyone?

Regards

I have something simillar to your case but...my ABS is working fine.
I have a problem with a ABS system-self testing.
When turning ignition on all the lights flash on, but without ABS lamp.
I've checked a bulb and it is ok.I dont know what to do and where to look in....
Please help.
Mark

As far as I know the ABS system can be checked for codes just like the other electronic systems. IIRC, for my 1993 960 you use box 'A', spot '3'. HERE is a general guide on how you can retrieve the codes (please make a donation if you feel that website is worth supporting). As for a list of ABS codes, I don't have a website with that information at the moment. Perhaps on of you guys can 'google' around and post back a website with the ABS code descriptions. I certainly could use it when I try and help others here.

I hope that sets you guys on the right path. Let me know how things work out.

Yes I've used this IIRC diagnosing system and tried to check in socket 3 as you seed but when pushed a buton a diode looks like to "tried"to flash but have no enough power(looks like diagnosing error,or what?).???
But when testing a fuel and ignition system flashing 1-1-1,so I suppose something is wrong with a ABS computer ???
BUT ABS functioning ok when braking (I have no idea ???).
Meybe there is a kind of relay which have to do with testing process and is damaged...???
What you thing...?

Hi Mark

Yes I think you are right there should be a "Surge Protector Relay" with a fuse in the top of it - trouble is I have looked where it should be (on the back of the bracket that holds the ABS ECU ) and there's nothing there !

Anyone have any idea where it could be on a 94/5 940 Wentworth 2.0 Turbo Wagon?

Regards
