When my wife took the car out this morning, the Ipod adapter was working fine. On the way home it no longer worked. The Ipod works fine on its own but the Volvo Ipod adapter has stopped registering the CD changer. There is power going through the cable to the Ipod itself. The stereo in an HU803, and we have had this adapter since 2005. It was installed by the dealer.

Has anybody else had a similar problem, and if so where should I look, or what should I do? Help is always greatly appreciated.

It happened to me twice since I've owned it. I've fixed it by doing some of the following.

Unplug power socket of Ipod adaptor and replug. (Probably in the boot, refer to pictures in My Garage, there is a photo there of the Ipod Adapter at the back in the boot labelled with what wire goes where.)

Unplug DIN aux socket at Ipod adaptor end and reconnect.

Unplug Ipod and reconnect.

... and the most difficult (but not too difficult) unplug and replug melbus DIN aux socket at the HU end.

When reconnecting, apply some connector lubricant to reduce socket oxidation & tarnish causing poorer connectivity.

I use an audio grade one called ProGold

Just a heads up, I had the same problem on my new s60 and I reset the cd changer fuse in the trunk and that fixed it. :)
